The picture quality is mind blowing. IMO,the picture looks just as good as the $5,000 plasmas I looked at. The onscreen menu is very simple to navigate. There are 4 different options for changing the screen size when you're watching.Also,the screen does not seem to get dirty or pick up dust.No complaints here.I hope the tv lasts for a long time because I really enjoy it.
The sound is pretty good. I have a hard time telling the difference between 720p and 1080p. The controls / interface is good. This set is really great for the money you're paying. The picture is awesome. If you don't want to spend over $3,000 on a top of the line plasma, this is going to be a strong alternative. I'd buy again.
This is the best tv for the price you buy. 720p looks excellent even when you play Blue ray disc on this tv. You dont find much difference at this size compared to 1080p. This is the best bet for the price.
For example, my best friend has a KDL-40W3000 Sony Bravia of the same age which cost more money and has motion blur and a far less contrast.I am currently on Amazon looking for a 50"+ Panasonic Plasma for my living room. One of my biggest concerns before buying such a large TV was if our bedroom would be too bright at night with it on.
I hung it on the wall with a tilt-mount bracket in my bedroom above the dresser mirror ( we have 9' ceilings). Being the research nut,audio/video entheusist and cheap-wad that I am, I bought this 80u.
After about a year of use, I have had NO issues (burn-in, heat, glare, reflections, non-1080p) and we enjoy watching this TV each night. It works out well because it hid all of the wires without doing any work and allows easy viewing from the bed.
Some might think that this TV is too large for a bedroom; but, I am so glad that bought a 50" instead of a 42". This TV has a nice custom picture setting that is easy to get to and I have set below 40% brightness and color for in-the-dark viewing.After viewing this TV over time, I now realize how good it is compared to the LCD TV's owned by friends and family.
The prices on the 720p models are an astounding value and are fantastic TV's.
I am extremely please with this product and how quickly it was delivered.I finally got it hooked up and enjoy watching it and am sure it will be terrific. Thank you so much.
